Production filming is underway and two big names, Margot Robbie and Tom Hanks, have already joined the team.
Scarlett Johansson is leaving behind the superhero realm of Marvel and venturing into the eccentric universe of Wes Anderson.
The newest addition to the cast of the filmmaker’s latest project, currently being filmed in Spain, is none other than the famed Black Widow star. The film will feature a star-studded lineup of Anderson regulars, including Adrien Brody, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman, and Tilda Swinton, alongside notable newcomers like Margot Robbie, Tom Hanks, and Rupert Friend. While the plot specifics remain under wraps for now, Anderson is both the writer and director for this feature, and Johansson’s role has yet to be revealed.
Anderson is gearing up to wrap up filming for his latest project by the end of September, which coincides with the release of his new movie, The French Dispatch, in October through Searchlight. Even though this isn’t their first collaboration, it will be the first time Johansson appears on camera for Anderson. Previously, she had lent her voice to his 2018 stop-motion animated film, Isle of Dogs.
The famous personality, who was nominated for two Academy Awards for her outstanding performances in Marriage Story and Jojo Rabbit in the previous year, has recently appeared in the superhero movie Black Widow. But, it resulted in some legal issues with Disney as her contract was supposedly breached when the film was released on Disney+ along with its theatrical release.
